This is super simple and delicious recipe for when you need that little something chocolatey but you’d rather have it healthy too. This is your guilt free, sugar free, gluten free all natural happy snack.
If you have a food processor, you can make this in 15 minutes. I have a small food processor so it wasn’t strong enough to crush all my nuts super fine, so if you have those big powerful ones it’ll be a lot better.
Super simple date balls
1 cup Dates
1/2 cup Almonds roasted or raw
1/2 cup Walnuts roasted or raw
2 Tbsp Shredded coconut
2 Tbsp Good quality cocoa
Put everything in a food processor and blitz until its fine crumbs.
Check if it comes together when you squish a little bit between your fingers, if it’s still very crumbly you can add more dates, or a tbsp of nut butter at a time.
This will depend whether your dates are on the dry or the wet kind. I used A mix of both and didn’t need to add any nut butter.
When it comes together and when you squish it stays together, divide it into a tbsp sized balls, 16 gm on the scale. And roll it until it’s a nice smooth balls.
You can eat it as it, or if we‘re being extra, you can roll it in cocoa, matcha, shredded coconut or crushed pistachios or cinnamon sugar. But that would defeat the no sugar purpose wouldn’t it!
And this is a very forgiving and substitute recipe, you can change the nuts to whatever you have. Make it a matcha ball, or add chocolate chips, spices, or more coconut.
The only thing constant here is the dates. Try to find dates that are wet, that‘a what will make it come together.
A very simple artificial sugar free, gluten free, vegan snack for when you want something a little sweet.
